If I get one more phone call...
From someone trying to sell me baby things Im going to get really annoyed!!!!!!
They all keep telling me that I registered online with them...The only thing I registered with was BRU and on here...BUT when I registered I gave them a different phone ##### b/c I dont want solicitors calling the house and have been known to use 555-1212...This is getting really annoying!!!!!!!!

I have been getting a ton of solicitors also but mostly surveys, Police asking for money, that type of thing. Two survey askers have told us that they are exempt from the "Do Not Call Registry", which we are on. That annoyed me

That would annoy me too. We mainly get calls for our landlords because we have the same last name and alphabetically DH is in the book before them.

Go to the website donotcall.gov and register both your home telephone # and your cell phones. If you continue to get calls tell the person calling you are on the do not call list and then report them. The only people that can call you are companies that you already get services from eg: credit card companies or cable.
Yeah that would annoy me too.

Thanks for the advice..Im actually on the DONOTCALL registry...these companies are calling me and telling me that I signed up with them..so they say they have a right to call me..the problem is that, aside from being pretty sure that I never signed up with them, If I had I would NEVER of given out the phone # that they are calling me on so they are going to great lengths to obtain my # and I find the whole thing dishonest...annoying...rude...etc.

hey sorry im crashing im a lurker and have not graduated to the LIF board yet, anyway when i signed up for LIW i got all those calls also.. when you registered on this site i think it registers you for all those things as well.. i get all those calls for wedding things.

Have you ever bought anything at Motherhood Maternity? The first time that I bought something there they asked for my name, address and phone number. I didn't give them the phone, but I gave the rest.
I have been getting A LOT of baby junk mail and I know they sold my info to these companies b/c my name is spelled very wrong, and the exact same very wrong everytime.
So annoying.

ahhhhhh...the plot thickens!!!!!!!!! Yes I have...HOWEVER I wouldnt of given out the home phone...hmmmmm..I guess maybe when they get my information and find out that the phone # is not one that I am reachable on...they search for my home phone...which is unlisted but Im sure they have their ways..very very annoying!!!!

Same thing happened to me...its definitely motherhood b/c I shopped there and being that the phone number is in DH's name, he gets all kinds of baby mail now...addressed to him! I haven't been bothered w/too many phone calls except ones from futuretrust (I signed up for the 529 plan credit card when I was at motherhood)....it is really annoying and an invasion of our privacy.
