Bird Watchers - Help Me Identify a Bird
I saw this bird at my feeder the other day (sorry, no pic).
He was on the smaller side - like a Cowbird - all black except for a white bar on each wing.
I can't find him in any of my books It's starting to make me wonder if he was just a figment of my imagination!

Re: Bird Watchers - Help Me Identify a Bird
He didn't have white anywhere other than the single bar on his wings. Magpies have a white belly. Plus I don't think they're on the east coast?

Similar...but the bar was more like a mockingbird bar - sideways across his wing.
So weird.
What search string ar you using?
I tried "black bird white bar wing" (and variations of) and came up with nothing.

A lost Tri-Colored Blackbird? (they shouldn't be in this area)
This site is cool, too - it can help you decribe birds better to help you (or other people) help you identify! http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/birding123/identify/

Re: Bird Watchers - Help Me Identify a Bird
Very similar - minus the red - and this bird was a bit smaller.
Ugh, it's going to drive me insane! thanks for the link...
