I sent my old passport with my marriage certificate (for a name cahnge) on May 1, 2007 . I called this morning and perky stupid little Jessica at TRAVEL.STATE.GOV informed me she has no record of it and I have to pay for another passport

you would have had to pay either way. So Perky Jessica better tell her boss that losing someone's legal documents is unacceptable.

What did it say when you checked online?
My brother applied for his in April. It says being processed and has an application number. He has to call them for an appt, he travels 2 weeks from tomorrow.

No it was free becasue I sent it with the year(of me getting married) then their is no charge.. OMG I'm so mad!

well whether it costs or not, it took all this time and you have nothing and have to start from scratch. What at PIA!!! You have to get new documents, a new marriage cert..etc..
that's unacceptable!!!
