Swelling???

I am in my 35th week....last night, my feet were so swollen...and today, they seem to have gone down, but what can I do to prevent this? Yesterday I went to the beach, did a bit of walking and then last night we sat at the beach watching fireworks....HELP me! I dont want to go around with these HUGE feet....should I stay by the pool instead today??

Re: Swelling???

Drink tons of water and elevate your feet as often as you can. It's a combo of the heat and water retention. (I know, drinking water to help with water retention seems stupid, but it's true.) Avoid salty things. And if you can get INTO the water, do it!!!! It's heavenly because it redistributes the fluids!

Re: Swelling???

I tried everything and only giving birth helped.

You can try:

drink plenty of water
limit sodium intake
elevate feet as much as possible

Re: Swelling???

This has gone way too fast!!! I'm trying to keep my legs crossed until we have closed on our new place. Chat Icon

Many of the cocktail mixes don't have alcohol in them. (Always read the label to see which ones.) I am partial to the Mudslide mix, blended with ice cream! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Swelling???

I find the more walking I do the bigger my legs, ankles and feet seem to get. So for right now I am limiting the amount of walking I am doing. Thankfully DH rubs my feet to help alleviate the soreness when they do swell

Re: Swelling???

Swimming in my pool worked wonders!!! My DH and I must have swam for an hour, it was heavenly. I was so light in the pool...when I got out, it was funny...I said OMG I feel so heavy!! Best of all, no swelling in my feet!! Today I am wearing flip flops, even though it goes against dress code, but I figure, hey, I am pregnant, what can they really do??? Chat Icon

i drink ALOT of water and avoid salt/sodium my feet/ankles/knees have been swollen. I bought a few pairs of new shoes 1 size bigger and they were ok until this recent heat wave - today i had to get a doctor's note and wear flipflops to work because thats all that fits Chat Icon its impossible to keep my feet elevated during the day because i'm at work
