If you had tickets to a show, but couldn't make it...
would you sell them to someone for face value, or less??
Background.... DH calls me at 5:15 and tells me that someone @ work has tickets to Dancing with the Stars for tonight at 7:30 and asks if I want to go. So I asked how much the tickets were and he said they were 150 each, for VIP table tickets, or 65 each for regular seats. I thought about it and said no because 1. He's still @ work and would have to go to the guys house to get them, come home, shower and get ready and 2. I was in the middle of cooking dinner and there was no way I would be able to get ready in that amount of time. Plus, I'm kinda tired. So then I get off the phone with him and he calls me again like 10 min ago (AN HOUR before the show starts) seeing if I changed my mind. Then he says "He said we can pay him in a few weeks, he doesn't need the money today". I want to go, but we would literally miss at least the first hour.... so why bother, right?
If it was me, and I was basically throwing the tickets out because I can't go, I would either give them away, or at least sell them for 1/2 what I paid. Is it wrong for me to think like that??

So he has tickets in both areas? VIP and regular? How can he sell you both? Sounds like he just has tickets and wants to sell them to you.

No he gave us a choice of either sets of tickets. Apparenty his sister or someone bought them and then "forgot" about them and is out of town. So he basically asked a bunch of people at DH's job to see if anyone wanted to buy them. But why ask 2 hours before the show starts??? I totally would have gone too!

I would probably just give them away.

Still sounds fishy to me. Who buys tickets in two different sections? Didn't they want to sit together?

She supposedly bought 4 tickets for the regular and 2 for VIP. You are right... does sound a lil fishy too.. oh well.. in any event, no one is going to the show!
