Re: do you have to use?
It really depends. Some people choose to and some don't. I bought dreft for the first couple of loads of laundry and then I just bought Tide Free and will use that when it runs out.

Re: do you have to use?
Yes. Most people use Dreft but there are some others that can be used. I think All makes one. Target makes a generic version of Dreft that is cheaper.

Re: do you have to use?
I don't think you Have too..most do though..
I used dreft and baby oxyclean for the 1st year. It's not that bad, I must have bought maybe 3-4 100oz bottles that entire year.
Now DD uses our reg tide detergent.

Re: do you have to use?
I am planning on using the All Free and Clear that we currently use. I am going to wash the baby's clothes seperately from ours, but will still use the same detergent.

Re: do you have to use?
I used Baby All (which I think is All Free and Clear now - I just picked it up for this one)
Buy one bottle for the beginning - newborns skin can be so sensitive to detergents. Then throw in one or two things into your load and see how they do. If there is no reaction I bet you could switch.
I used it for a year.

Re: do you have to use?
We all use Free and Clear detergent anyway. We also have kiddie dryer sheets for him from BRU.
I wouldn't use bleach on whites at first, their skin is sensitive.

Re: do you have to use?
There's no *have* to, but I choose to. I am using Dreft and will continue to do so for a while. I wouldn't use bleach, however. That stuff is harsh.

I just saw that Baby Magic makes one now. We will use Dreft, we have sensitive skin also.

Re: do you have to use?
i read that Dreft is good, but you can use regular detergant, AND that you can mix the babies laundry with yours. I picked up a huge bottle of Dreft for my baby due in Aug. I found it in BJ's

Re: do you have to use?
I use ivory snow, babies skin can be so sensitive and I didn't want to take a chance with regualr detergent.

Re: do you have to use?
we washed/wash his stuff in tide free and clear, but we have a high efficiency washer so its hard to find anything free of dyes and perfumes that we can safely use with our washer. I haven't seen many other detergents we can use besides the tide

I will not be using bleach. I have trouble using it on things that touch my own skin, so I can't imagine my baby tolerating it.
