JHS and pregnancy

Can you get your hair touched up with JHS if you are pregnant?

Personally, I wouldn't.
I've never had it but was considering it recently & after reading some info, I decided against it. Even if they try not to put the chemicals directly on your scalp, you will be inhaling everything for a few hours.

But do your own search for info & then make a decision you feel comfortable with

You will get alot of different opinions on this..so it may be best to ask your doctor.

However, I have a friend who did it while PG and nothing happened to her daughter. Although the chemicals they use are not the same as hair dye, I believe it's the same as having your hair dyed (which I do). It's not going to go into your blood stream or brain, it just smells.

Good Luck!

ETA: worse case if the smell bothers you..wear a mask.

Re: JHS and pregnancy

i keep forgetting to ask my dr. everytime im there i forget. so thats why i was looking to see if anyone actually asked.

i really wasn't asking for opinions just if anyone knew either way yes or no.
i would like to get it done before #2 is born since things are going to be hectic and its going to be hard to get out and get it done.

If you look it up on-line, there are a few articles on jhs & pg.

Otherwise, we aren't dr's so we can only give our opinions

Re: JHS and pregnancy

Both my hairdresser and doctor told me not too - too many harsh chemicals.

eta - my hairdresser said to wait 6 months after having the baby because your hormones are all out of wack.

My hairdresser told me not to do it while pregnant because your hair is different and it might not even take. She also said she personally would not do it while breast feeding either.

Re: JHS and pregnancy

There are some new age places that only use natural hair color treatment. I know they are safe since it is all herbal stuff. there is a place in roslyn, not sure of the name but I am sure u can do a search on it.
