I have to be honest, i disagree w/all the "happy she's going to jail" posts....

I understand that all the applaud is because perhaps she's finally going to get a taste of "real life"
but I still feel kinda bad for her, this could have happened to anyone,
and I think the punishment is a bit extreme for the crime.
And yes-I do understand that she put other lives in danger by drinking&driving,
but like I said, I think that this couldve happened to anyone,, people make stupid mistakes...

I just dont get people being so happy about this!

well I for one AM happy about it. why? because she thinks she is above the law, like most celebs who commit crimes do. I assure you that if a regular non celeb was caught DWI then put on probation b/c of it and violated the probation 2x without fulfilling a single one of the mandatory requirements, they would go to jail too. and I bet for longer than 45 days.

ETA: and someone earlier potsed that she tried to convince the judge to have a conference call today so she wouldn't have to show up in court Chat Icon she is a piece of CRAP!

I agree with opps, it is wrong to be so happy about somebody else's misery. I also think they are making an exam[le of her and treating her more harshly than if she wasn't a celebrity.

I think she deserves it. I mean, get a freakin cheuffer to drive your a ss around. She can definitely afford to do that..she thinks she is above the law and that her money can get her out of anything.

wow, I have to say... I am really shocked by how many people seem to think that being caught DWI 3 times isn't a big enough deal that it is worthy of 45 days in jail Chat Icon

I guess a slap on the wrist until you kill someone would be better?

Wasnt she caught DWI one time, and then the other 2 times she was pulled over were because she was on probation and shouldnt be driving in the 1st place-but she claimed she "wasnt aware" the she was on probation?

that's a lot different than being caught DUI 3 seperate times.

I'm not 100% sure, but some of the reports I saw mentioned DWI 3x

1 x DUI, 2x driving on suspended liscence from that DUI

i think she deserves punishment, but i think 45 days is harsh. my best friends estranged father has about 7 counts of DUI and never did anything more than a night in jail and had his licensed permanently revoked.

she deserves punishment - community service, house arrest, spending time with families of victims so that she sees the results of her stupidity. she WILL NOT learn anything from this.

she didnt get 2 DUI's after violating her probation.
She originally got 1 DUI, then was caught driiving 2x(both times NOT DUI) while on probation from that 1 DUI .

Re: Paris has to do the full 45 days in jail now!!!

Sorry for the long post. It's Sunday morning and I'm bored. Chat Icon

Just a couple of thoughts as I've watched this story unfold.

1. I read, in the NEWSPAPER, that Paris' grandfather had given the sherriff $1,000 approximately a year ago as some sort of "election" donation. Maybe the sherriff was being told favors were being called in by the family? Hmmm. Chat Icon

2. Dollars to donuts the judge was himself a "Paris hater" long before he ever got the chance to have her personally under his jurisdiction.

3. When it came to sending her back to jail, the judge and sherriff's fight was actually pretty funny to me. It was testosterone vs. testosterone. But the judge was right as to law. The sherriff violated the judge's specific directive of "no house arrest" even if by law he could let her out early for "overcrowding", "medical problems", etc.

Paris is a human being after all, and it gives me no joy to see anyone that wrecked. HOWEVER, Paris rubs her wealth and privilege in people's faces with her lifestyle, and even that "I'm so much better than you smirk" she has on her face whenever she poses for the paparazzi. I truly hope, for her sake if no one else's, she learns at least SOMETHING from this.

Paris' mother was taunting the judge at her first trial - during the sentencing. can you BELIEVE the utter stupidity of this woman? she was saying things like "he's just another judge who wants his own show". Chat Icon stupid STUPID woman!

I think DUI and DWIs are a big deal and Paris violated her parole. I bet she will never drink and drive again!
