DH/AC vent!!!

DH is INSISTANT that we need a new air conditioner. The thing is we probably won't be here next year (we rent). And the only AC that fits in the sleeve is this ridiculous, top of the line $700 air conditioner!!!

What if we buy a house with central air?? It will be a complete waste.

Vent over!!!

Re: DH/AC vent!!!

you could always sell the ac afterwards. I sold two acs last summer. They were silly old and I got $100 each for them!

The other alt is a portable ac..you can get one for about $400.

I guess we could sell it if worse came to worse. It's just the point.

He won't buy a portable AC. He needs max power.Chat Icon

Maybe strike a deal with your current landlord about paying for all or selling it to him when you move. The next tenants are going to have the same a/c issue.

OMG, we have the same exact issue! We have an old fedders in the wall. The only A/C is the friederich (SP?) and it's 700 dollars !!!! We live in a coop, so it will be a HUGE hassel to switch the sleeve, but we do NOT want to spend 700 on an AC. Can you put an AC in one of the windows since you are renting and not there permanantly?
