ebay Question- what would you do-
ok- last monday I sold a rather pricey Gucci bag to a new ebay member buy it now
my auctions clearly state- new members should contact me before bidding- (I had a few issues with non-payment before)
and my auctions clearly state to contact me with in 3 days- and to pay with in 5
this bag is over $500
her friend contacts me on wednesday- saying she is having a problem with paypal- since she is new- can she pay with money order
I say yes- of course
now it's friday of the next week!- neither one of them has responded to my messages
I have her phone number off the invoice- should I call?
if she is not sending the money order- i would like the chance to relist the bag before I have to pay for it on June 12th
to call or not to call? that is the question!

over a week- almost 2 at this point
I wanted to believe the money order was coming in the mail- but now I am starting to question it
a customer just called me about a bag I sold her- so I guess it's not weird
I am calling her now.... I will update

def. call, but also mark the item unpaid. I notice when I do that, folks usually contact me sooner because the message is now coming directly from ebay and they risk a strike on their account. I've had some non-paying bidder. I report them, relist, give neg. feedback and ban them from bidding on my auctions again.

was the money order mailed
I also reported it to ebay- I think I have been nice enough
I had 2 of these bags- 1 has a bid now- ending on tuesday- I want to see if I can offer a second chance offer on this one- if I get more then 1 bid- otherwise I will relist on tuesday night
I would prefer she just paid- I don't get people sometimes- she ended my auction early with the buy it now- I had 10 people watching the bag- these bags tend to go in the last 20 minutes- so she really screwed on this one!

If she doesn't call back today, call her again tomorrow. Tell her she has X amount of time to contact you or the bag will be relisted. Period.

I like paypal b/c it's quick- but the fees are nuts- on this bag- I would rather NOT have to pay the fees
and my DH can't spend more then a certain amount a month- b/c our bank account is already linked to my paypal account- it's really annoying
Plus they really don't protect you- we had an issue with something Jake bought - and we had to dispute it thru Amex- they took care of it right away-

Well, sounds like the situation may be resolved.
PayPal is really annoying. They really don't provide protection against scams.
I purchased something from a website ($350) and paid with PayPal. I received the item and it was "fake". I started a claim with PayPal and they denied me saying they will only ensure merchandise is delivered, not its authenticity. Then all of a sudden the merchant went out of business. And PayPal still wouldn't do anything. Thank goodness I was able to call Mastercard and they resolved it.
