So - do you agree that Rosie was...
calling troops terrorists?
It sure seemed like she was in the View.
the problem with that is that terrorists are people who kill in civilian clothes - not army or military... so it just doesnt fit the definition...
but I think she was, but on her website she seems to be back peddling...

I don't think she was calling our troops terrorists. I think she was trying to make a point as to how this whole "situation" has gotten out of control.

I absolutely LOATHE her...and for me to take a stance on anything she says is very uncommon.
I do not think she was calling the tropps terrorists, but I did interpret her as saying that our military, in direct order of our country's leader are causing terror on those we are invading.

Re: So - do you agree that Rosie was...
no, I don't believe she called our troops terrorists. she loves our troops, visits the wounded, which is more then I can say for the prez.
her point was that terrorists came here and killed a few 1000 during 9/11. which she knows is horrible. But 650,000 people in Iraq have been killed, not all soldiers...most of the 9/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia...so if we are over there killing, wouldn't they think our soldiers were terrorist?
she loves the troops and wants them home. She is fighting for them because she feels the ones who were killed should be on the nightly news, face/picture...feels Bush should attend a few funerals, just like Rudy did for 9/11.

No. dont think she meant that we are terrorists. I think she was trying to get the point across that we are heading no where with this wear and in turn we are also killing innocent people over there. I dont really like her but she does do a lot for the troops.

Re: So - do you agree that Rosie was...
although i don't think that's where she was going with that statement, but she didn't NOT say that.
my $.02: if you're going to be that loud and public about your feelings, you need to choose your words wisely. we all mis-speak, but if you go out of your way to have people hear/listen what you have to say, then you have to think before you speak.

Re: So - do you agree that Rosie was...
I think she was "implying it" without flat out saying it..and if she wasnt, she would have stood up for herself and said she wasnt.....
She left the interpretation to others and hence got herself where she is...

Agreed. She was trying to make the point that Iraq did not attack us. So why did we invade them?

What does Germany have to do with anything? I was just saying what point she was trying to make, that's all. There are a lot of things this country (under certain leaders) has done that didn't deserve to be done to others.

She was not calling the soldiers terrorist. She is very loyal to the soldiers. She obviously, hates Bush & blames him for all of this.

She's pointing out that during WWII we declared war on Germany without an act of agression from them to us. Japan attacked us, and yes, Germany and Russia were both allies of Japan, but neither had attacked us directly.

Re: So - do you agree that Rosie was...
I think Rosie delivers he thoughts in an out of control manner. Reducing herself to personal attacks on Elisabeth does not help her case or sway the vote
If she acted in a calm and cool manner, I think I'd respect her more and be willing to see her point of view.

we and NATO also invaded Yugoslavia (under Clinton) and without any approval from the UN.

Re: So - do you agree that Rosie was...
I am not a fan of Rosie. However, I do not think she was calling our troops terrorist. She does not speak intelligently or thoughtfully and her lack of eloquence gets her in trouble. She really should think things out before she speaks. That said though, I think she gets way more attention and crap that she deserves for simply speaking her mind.
