Male Inferility Doctors
Can anyone recommend a male infertility specialist that takes medical coverage? My husband's has Azospermia and the urologist that he goes to is not a specialist in infertility, so he recommended a place but they do not take coverage. Please let me know. Thank you in advance!

My husband went to Dr. Brett Mellinger in Plainview (he also has a Garden City office). He specialize in Male Infertility. He unfortunately was unable to help my husband who has unknown male infertility.

Hello,
We go the best male infertility urologist in the country....Dr Marc Goldstein is the only male infertility specialist cited in the best doctors in America
He does not take insurance but I have BCBS plan and just submit the claims after the visit and get reimbursed......
He works at Cornell which is considered the best male factor IVF clinic in the country....

Yes I agree Dr. Marc Goldstein is supposed to be the best but he doesn't take insurance. I called and I think the first visit alone was $500
My DH was seeing Dr. Harris Nagler. He is also supposed to be very good with Male Factor. His # is 212-844-8900. His office is located in Union Square. Good Luck!

And this only applies if you have a PPO contract with your insurance, and some policies only reimburse after a large deductible and only 50% and up...
Make sure you know your policy before thinking you will get reimbursed in full for anything.

I have several friends that went to Dr. Sheynkin he is on staff at Stony Brook. Several of the infertility practices in the area use him and he takes most insurance plans. He trained at Cornell and was taught by Dr. Marc Goldstein and Dr. Schlegel. I know the dr I went to @ LI-IVF refers to him exclusively.

Yes, that is true. He is expensive...
Our first visit was $575 ( I know it is crazy) but now, all the visits are "only" $120....
I do have the PPO plan and we get reimbursed about 80%, which is great....

Re: Male Inferility Doctors
Thank you all for your assistance. I'm going to check the websites you sent me and see from there. My OB/GYn referred Dr. Gilbert in Great Neck, he doesn't take insurance either, but if it helps my husband I don't care if I have to take out a loan. Just right now we wanted to buy a house, but that can always wait. Thanks again!!! I'll keep you girls updated and please if anyone has any knowledge of Azospermia and got pregnant please let me know. Thanks!!!!
