"Delusions" by A Football Widow
So DH is watching the NFL draft as we speak. All of a sudden a commercial for Direct TV's "NFL Sunday Ticket" comes on. You know the one where you can watch 8 (COUNT EM 8) games at one time.
I then get the Doe-eyed "PLEEEEEEEASE" look from him.
To which I respond, "Puppy."
The conversation promptly ended.
Stay strong ladies, we have a long season ahead of us!

Oh yes - we just saw the same commerical here! Luckily, the condos are not equipped for Direct TV, so it's not even an issue - thank god!!

I am so thankful for that! When we rented and we were able to get Direct TV, not only did DH take over the LR tv but he would take the tv from the bedroom and put it in the LR so he could watch more at a time. (at that time you could only watch 2 games at once with directTV).

we don't have Direct TV - but if getting the NFL ticket meant getting a puppy - you'd probably get the whole damn pound
but, knowing me, I probably would've just gone ahead and ordered it. I don't ask for permission to buy stuff and neither does she.
She'd be pizzed but she'd get over it

I already pay for reg cable and we have direct TV just for the NFL package (we live in NC) SO DH needs to make sure he can watch all his Giants games. So right now the direct tv is suspended...and soon enough I will be paying for two tv services

Nope. He hates dogs as much as I hate football.

Re: "Delusions" by A Football Widow
I know how it is to have a husband obssessed with sports. Mine is more into baseball than football but he would have been more than happy to watch the NFL draft all day if I would let him. He did end up watching it for 2 hours. I am saying to him "how could you watch this stuff all day?". He says that people find it interesting to see what players end up on what teams and all. I don't get it. Yeah I watch the occasional baseball or basketball game but that is it.
