What would you do?

We are scheduled to start our first IVF cycle during mid-May. We have been waiting for this for a while.

But, I have a dilemma and don't know what to do.

We are in the process of buying a house. We can close as early as June 5th and as late as July 5th. I orginally thought that July 5th would be better, but I am very busy at work during July and wouldn't be able to take much time off for the move. If we close during June I can take as much time as I need, but then we would be going through IVF and moving all at the same time.

We don't want to push back the IVF cycle because we wouldn't be able to due it until August then, since July isn't a good month.

What would you do?

IMO - wait until the time is right - a month or 2 later won't be a big difference

Re: What would you do?

This is a tough one. I have for different reasons put off cycles, but as the Good Doctor is always reminding me I'm 39 and what am I waiting for?

I think that moving house & doing a cycle of IVF is alot to deal with at once, the daily visits to RE and injections, also don't forget that once you have done the transfer, depending on what RE you go to they may put you on 48 hours bedrest and no lifting anything heavy afterwards during your 2ww.

Only you know what you can handle emotionally & physically, maybe sit with your DH and talk it out. What about going ahead with the cycle mid may and closing after your 2ww once you know if you are pg or not?

Good luck with whatever you decide Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Like CAT mentioned, only you know how much you can handle physically and emotionally. But, If I were in your shoes, I would want to be in a good frame of mind and consider August.

Good Luck with your decision! Chat Icon

Buying a house and moving are very stressful. Don't chance anything or risk letting stress interfere with your body. Wait until August. It'll be here sooner than you think; especially with how busy you are going to be.

I would probably wait until August. Get everything in the house settled and then you can concentrate on your IVF cycle.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
