If we decide to have children, we would not baptise - we are agnostic.

We're also agnostic and do not plan on baptizing our children... which should be an interesting conversation with the parents...

Re: spinoff: anyone NOT baptise their baby?
My sister and I are not baptized.
It caused quite a commotion in our families apparently but my parents (mom catholic, dad protestant) wanted us to be able to choose what religion we wanted to be and not feel like it was forced upon us.
My sister wants to be a buddist and I am still "nothing". That doesn't mean that I don't believe in God, I just don't belong to an organized religion.
I am pregnant now and my DH is Catholic, I told him I have no problem with him having DS baptized, but that will be their thing. I am not going to go to church with them, etc.
I actually really enjoy learning about religion, it is really cool from a history standpoint.
Sorry for the really long answer

Not a mom yet, but we've talked about just having a blessing when the time comes, but neither from a catholic or jewish religious stand point, just a little spiritual blessing.

Re: spinoff: anyone NOT baptise their baby?
I haven't. We probably won't. I don't consider myself Catholic. If we do baptize her, it will ONLY be to have my sister and her hubby officially be her godparents. It's more what THAT symbolizes to me than the religious thing.

Re: spinoff: anyone NOT baptise their baby?
We didn't and won't be. I don't practice religion at all and really not sure if I believe in anything. DH is atheist. We refust to do it for show for the families. We don't go to church and don't plan on starting any time soon.

Re: spinoff: anyone NOT baptise their baby?
One of my sisters didn't. Technically they did "baptize" both baby but it was their own ceremony that they made up with a "god family". Incorporated Catholicism, Native American elements, etc. in an outdoor ceremony.

Re: spinoff: anyone NOT baptise their baby?
We haven't and we wont. I grew up catholic and DH grew up baptist. Now we go to a christian church and we want DS to choose the religion that he wants when he is older.
