Re: What do you take for allergies?

My allergies have been bothering me too. I am taking Zyrtec and hope it helps. I have been blowing my nose and coughing my head off. Sorry your DH is not feeling well.Chat Icon

Re: What do you take for allergies?

Sudafed

But they only sell the one with the chemical in it that actually works behind the counter. The ones that you get on the shelves do not contain "pseudophedadrine" (sp?) which is the main ingredient that makes it work. Kids were making drugs with it (like speed) so they took it off the shelves and put it by the register. So, now you just have to ask for it, sign a waiver and then you can buy it.

It's a red box, little red pills and it WON'T have the "does not contain pseudophedadrine" on the box (which is highlighted yellow) --the ones ON the shelves that you'll find if you go down the aisle will say that- those do nothing! I tried them-- but the ones behind the counter will not have that on it and those are the ones that work.

It's kind of an ordeal to get them but they work AMAZINGLY and they are the only thing I can take that does the trick w/o an Rx. Chat Icon

Re: What do you take for allergies?

When my DR thought I was suffering from allergies he suggested Allavert (sp?)

Needless to say I did not have allergies, and I now have almost an entire box or Alavert.Chat Icon

Re: What do you take for allergies?

Clarinex. Honestly, the only thing that gave me any real relief were the allergy shots. I felt great when I was getting them weekly.
