Migraine question

Since I've just gone through 5 hours of possibly the worst pain ever....

Is it possible to get a migraine on one side of your head?

I had all of the symptoms, the spots, the naseau, senstivity to light, can't sleep because it hurts too much.

I still have a bad headache but can't believe how much better I feel.

Re: Migraine question

This in only the 3rd one I've ever had - and the last was over 10 years ago. I wish I knew what happened. I was having a great day & the next thing you know I'm seeing spots.

I can't even believe I look at a computer now compared to the hours I was laying on my floor with a towel over my head.Chat Icon

Thanks everyone. I feel even better knowing that's the norm.

Re: Migraine question

yes it is totally possible to get them on one side of the head. my poor dh suffers from cluster headaches and he usually gets it on one side, and then one eye gets tinier than the other (horners syndrome?)

Re: Migraine question

I have suffered from migraines since I was ten years old. There are many things that can trigger them. Certain foods, red wine, lack of sleep, and hormones. Some women get them right before they have their period. Also, altitude changes can cause migraines. I have learned to minimize my migraines by controlling these different factors. I had them so bad that I once passed out while driving my car. The Mayo clinics website has extremely valuable info about migraines. I hope you feel better!

Oh Barb, I'm so sorry to hear you are getting them.
I get severe migraines, they come with no warning, I've been getting them since childhood.
I also get them on the side of my head (temporal area, around my eyebrow too).
Fm me if you ever need any info, I have a lot! I also know a great neurologist in Huntington that's helped me.
I wouldn't wish a migraine on my worst enemy...It's not "just a headache".
