Wrongfully accused
Have you ever been wrongfully accused of something?
And how did you handle it?

I was wrongfully accused of sending someone e-mails at work. I never did it. I dont talk to her and don't have her email (any emails) im not that computer savy I told them I didnt do it. Offered up my computer for inspection and just blew it off. Not worth my time.

Yes... and I realize now that I should've just rolled my eyes and walked away from the whole childish situation....BUT I stayed and plead my case. I've moved on.

See.....you would think that rational thinking would stop an accusation but it never does...

Re: Wrongfully accused
Yes....and I fought back! I was only 17 at the time....I was working at store...and we used to have to sign-in when we started on a timesheet. I had to purchase a pair of pantyhose before I could begin working (dress code policy)...so I did, went to the back room, put them on and signed in for 2:00 pm...the clock said 2:05...but you always had to round up/down since you get paid for 15 minute intervals.
Anyway...the manager on duty (there were 5 managers, but I didn't get along with this particular one) said I signed in for the wrong time...I should have signed in for 2:15 pm...and I was stealing time. She said that the receipt from the pantyhose I purchased said 2:07 pm...and since I went in the back to put them on before starting work...it had to be at least 2:10, so I should have rounded up...not down. I argued that the register time is always fast...and it didn't have the same time on the clock in the back room. Anyway...she went to the store manager...the store manager told me I had to go home...I was fired for stealing time
When I got home...my mother asked why I was home early...I told her the whole story. Since I worked in retail...and I had a union, and paid union dues...my mother said I should contact them. So...I wrote the union a letter. They contacted me...and the store manager and the store manager agreed that the registers were always fast, and we were only disputing a few minutes. Rather than go through an arbitration process...the manager agreed to give me my job back. I told the union, that I didn't want to work for this person anymore...we didn't get along.
They offered me a transfer to another location, near-by....and I took it. I worked for the company for another 3 years. My mother wouldn't let me give up so easy
PS. Sorry so long

Exactly....but I showd them
ETA: I don't think they thought as 17 year old would fight them on it...they probably thought I would just go get another job.

I must have been at one time or another because I can practically imagine myself saying "It's not my fault!" but no particular instance comes to mind.

Re: Wrongfully accused
yes...I was accused of Job Abondandment.
I had given my manager notice 3 weeks earlier...only she thought I was joking...I stresses over and over that I wasn't, and that I found a new job and would be starting in 3 weeks.
She even thought it was a joke when the other girls gave me a good bye cake.
Well when the 3 weeks were up and I didn't show up for work...she called me and left a message that this isn't funny anymore...I went to far by not showing up or calling.
I called her and told her...I kept trying to tell you that I wasn't joking...you refused to listen to me. I told her that although I enjoyed working there...I had just finished college and was ready to move on...she laughed it off.
so a few more days go by and the store manager calls me to find out why I haven't come to work...and that this is considered Job Abandonment...and that if I ever wanted to work for this co again they would turn me away because I did not give proper notice.
I then called the store manager, and explained the whole story. I told him that I don't want to burn my bridges...which is why I gave 3 wks notice instead of the customary 2....but my manager thought it was all a joke that the whole dept was in on.
The store manager didn't seem to belive me at first...so I asked him to please talk to the other people in the dept....he did...and after a few days called me back to apologize for the misunderstanding...and promised me that I would have a good standing record with the co...in case I wanted to come back in the future.

Re: Wrongfully accused
I was wrongfully accused by my husband's SIL of cheating with her BIL. He was doing our home refinance and hubby left it up to me to handle the documentation, legwork, etc. So in total I had three phone conversations with him, one fax, one stop to my office where he had me sign forms (the office is a block or two away from my work) and 1x I ran into him at the deli next door (wow, what a coincidence since we work in the same area). From that she deducted we were having an affair and told her sister so. It escalated into a humungo feud where I had hubby intervene (since he chickened out of alot of that family b.s. early on) and had HIM defend me. From that one incident alone, we haven't had ANY communication with her in three years and almost no communication with his brother. I didn't speak to his parents for almost two years because they believed her!

Re: Wrongfully accused
Oh yes! One of DH's female co-workers, was trying to start trouble between the two of us. If the B**ch had been standing in front of me, I might have killed her! DH new I was telling the truth because I called her the "C" word, which I never use
