Does anyone know someone who has used e-harmony or match.com? Please let me know any positive/neg experiences. If you/someone you know has used both, which was better... TIA My mom is looking...

I didn't like Match. The men on there just didn't appeal to me. But your mom may find men in her age range to be different.
I actually met my DH on eHarmony! I liked it for the most part, since you have to go through a lengthy profile process you only get matched to people you're compatible with. And DH and I are really amazingly compatible.
However, I have a few other friends who didn't like it, complained that they didn't get a lot of matches. Also, I was annoyed that I was getting matched to men who were 40-41 (nothing against them, but in my experience that was too old for me). I was 31 at the time and the system would not let me change that requirement! Kind of annoying.

I met my DH on match.com. I got other replies, but I only answered 2 of them and DH is the only one I met in person. Obviously, I had a good experience

A few of my friends tried match.com and it was OK. some one else I know recently started using Yahoo.com personals. Guess they are all about the same. I keep telling my Dad I'm gonna put him on there!

My SIL joined match.com after a bad break up..and didnt really like it..
Shortly after joined EHARMONY and loved it...she is now seriously involved with a guy she met through there...they live together.. and I truthfully feel, they'll be getting engaged soon!!!
She cant say enough good things about how safe it is...and how they match you so well...
After metting SIL SO I refer alot of people there!

DH and I met through speeddating. I liked it so much better because with internet dating you are putting the cart before the horse. You can e-mail someone and they can look "great on paper" but then you meet and it's no ones fault but you just have no chemistry and you just invested a whole night when you know in the first 5 seconds it's probably not going to work out
With speedating you see the person and know if you are attracted to them.
Funny thing, about a year and a half before I met DH I saw speeddating on tv and thought... OMG, that's barbaric, how rude and what can you tell in a four minute date

Thanks for the feedback. My mom is new to this-she just bought her own laptop and heard mixed reviews on both sites. I hope she finds someone!!!

I met my DH on matchmaker.com.. I didn't like match.com.
I have a friend right now that is using match.com and has met a lot of nice guys.. (not the one yet, but Im praying soon)
