DH/Name vent

Ok, so we had decided on a name about 2 months ago. It was going to be Colton. I asked DH if he was sure, and he said yes. So, I'have told people that's his name, and I have already started calling him that, and last night DH says he wants to rethink that name. There were NO other names we agreed on...... I am so frustrated!

I feel ya. For a moment, I couldnt' remember the first name [for a boy] we'd decided on...I know the middle name and if the baby is a boy, he will go by that. DH will get over himself. My compromise was to use it as a middle name...I said nothing about what the child would be called.

That said, DH tells me it's "john" and I suddenly remember it was "jon." [the 2 names are literally off by a letter] We argued. Finally I just said: forget it, i will name the baby when it's born and everyone can DEAL. I'm tired of it and you don't like ANY name we pick.

My real problem is that he tried to be sly and the name he tried to sneak in I told him could only be a middle name [pushing my name to the first] mainly b/c it would've been my sister's name to name her after her father [it was a variation of his name based on meaning]. I did not get along with my step-father and really don't want to bring up any sort of emotions for my mom or sister. [the step-father is dead now] DH thinks that is lame.

OH I hear ya....
My DH isn't cooperating at all in the name department. We have plenty of time but he has only given me two suggesstions, TWO names if its a boy and NONE if its a girl. MIND YOU, the TWO names he gives me is HIS first name and HIS middle name...he is not even kidding! Whenever I ask him to think of some more he says "I haven't had time".... meanwhile everyone I know can quickly rattle off at least a few names they like aside from their own!
