we get everything electronic as much as possible, if not paperless option avaiable, we scan the documents...

I have a filing cabinet with folders for each different bill that is paid. There are some bills that even though they are paid electronically, we still need to keep the paperwork.

i have a file cabinet, but i need a desktop versison of some kind

Can you get a scanner and scan the info onto disks or your computer? Getting started will be timely but it might be worth it.
Also, many companies are going paperless and therefor you can get copies online. Right click, save as and put into files on your computer.

I pay all my bills online and try to do as much paperless billing as possible. I hate papers all over the place.
