HO Help please
What's considered a good deductible? What's the dwelling? What should I ask should be covered? Can I pay most monthly?
I don't know if I am getting good rates for good policies.
Any help woudl be GREATLY appreciated. TIA

Re: HO Help please
The dwelling is the house itself. There are some policies that cover the dwelling only but, these only protect the mortgage lender.
The policy should cover the contents (personal property), family liability (per occurrance), and guest medical (per person). Our policy also covers additional living expenses for up to 12 months.
The deductible is how much you are willing to pay out of pocket if you do need to make a claim against your homeowners. If you have a lower deductible, the price of your policy will rise and vice versa. Our deductible is $500.
