Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone,
A friend of mine spoke about this group and what a wonderful support and inspiration you all are. Well, that is what I can use right now. I already have a beautiful 2 year old boy after using Clomid (sorry for the spelling) having a miscarriage then conceiving on my own. Now we would like to have another child but are faced with some problems. Been going to Dr. Keningsberg in Port Jeff and Melville since Dec. So far been back on Clomid and did two cycles of artificial insemination (never did that before). No luck. Now out of the nowhere - a cycle of No Ovulating. Dr. isn't sure why so he's uping the clomid and talking about a possible lapraoscopy. Anyone know how long you can be on clomid? (it's been about 5 months so far for me) Anyone now about anything about a laprioscopy?

I look forward to getting know you guys. Thanks for any answers you can give me.

You *can* be on Clomid for 12 months but most studies show that most takers don't get PG after 6 months. That is most people that take it get PG in the first 6 months. What, exactly is your issue?

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hi-
I had a laprascopy & D&C in December after my RE did a complete fertility workup.

My dr found I had endometriosis and a few polyps. He removed the polyps ands the endometriosis. I was totally cleaned out.

After the surgery I was discharged from the hospital and sent home.

I was a little sore afterwards, and had weird sensations ( gas pains) throughout my body. The gas travels around the body and even through your shoulders. To alleviate some of the discomfort, I walked around the house.

I would say you may be pretty sore for about 3-4 days, then it will get a bit better.

I was given one month after my next cycle to try to get pregnant( we had been trying for almost 2 years we had one m/c before we went to the re.) .

The Dr if we were not sucessful we were to move onto IUI-
Luckily, we got pregant.

For me, the laprascopy was a life saver.

I hope you have the same outcome that I did.

Good luck, please feel free to fm me if you have any questions.

Welcome...and I also hope your stay is short.
As far as the Clomid, I don't think most Drs. will have you on it for more than six months as it tends to thin out the lining. They may decide to move you up to injectables with IUI if the Clomid doesn't work.
Good luck with the laparoscopy, I've never had one so I have no info.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Hi Everyone!

I don't get my period every month. I've been like that my whole life. I've had tests done when I was younger and they said all was fine and that was just the way my cycle was.The clomid definitly helped just confused why no ovulation this time.

Re: Hi Everyone!

I am assuming you have PCOS, that is usually the cause for no ovulation. I also have PCOS.
When I was on Clomid, I ovulated on 100 mg. the first three months, then didin't ovulate so they bumped me up to 150 mg. which made me ovulate. I'm thinking maybe your body builds a resistance?Chat Icon I'm not really sure, but the Dr. could definitely answer that question.

Hi thanks for the advice and for giving me a better way to view this situation as 'catching the darn egg' (It may me chuckle)
