I dated a guy once and he was a little verbally abusive...but I had NO idea of his past (nice of people to warn me)! We got engaged and moved in to gether..and he beat the ever living crap out of me on my birthday. Believe me, I faught back but he was bigger and he won. I had my friends come over the next day while he was working and move me out. I was beat up pretty bad. I showed up at my Dad's house and he garbbed a baseball bat and started heading for the car to go kick my ex's azz. I should have let him.
This guy was such an azzhole and I found out after the fact he was cheating on me too and stealing from me! AND he had a history or all this stuff!!!
I wish I could tell everyone his name because he is in the middle of getting a divorce and will be on the prowl again soon!!
Just stay away from anyone named Scott from Huntington Station..

My first relationship was absuive, and that made me abusive for awhile, unfortunately, cause that's all I learned about relationships at that age, threats, name calling etc. But I definitely learned.

Never dated anyone who was abusive thankfully. But I did date a guy who had to always have "control" of our relationship since he was the man.
Boy, was it fun showing him how that was never going to happen with me

Never in an abusive relationship. I was with someone with NO SELF ESTEEM and tried to guilt me into things ... I left him after 3 months.
The other guy, I was with on & off for about 11 years - every time him or I didn't have a SO ... that was just torture, not abuse. No onw should be strung along for years with no future

Wow, I could have written this. I had a relationship that was so eearily similar to this .. it was on/off for about 6 years, and yes it was tortuous .. not really abusive. It was like this crazy, overly passionate, love/hate thing that was like being high on drugs .. when things were good they were SO good, whereas when things were bad I would be devasted. It was dysfunctional and wrong on so many levels, but I kept going back to this person.. I was a fool 
Though in retrospect, I will say that there was emotional abuse going on on his part.. he manipulated me like no other man ever had.. and my self esteem dropped to all time lows as a result of this person's lack of honesty/committment to me)

I should have let my Dad go over there! I KNow!! I also should have pressed charges but I didnt. He is such a loser. He STILL emails me wanted to get together - I ignore him.

No I never have but certainly have friends who have been and it is SO hard to stand by and watch.  One of my friends left the jerk that was verbally (and once even physically) abusive to her and then a year later went back to him!

OMG I would get sick at the sight of him! I pretend like he doesnt exist...and never did. I cant stand him. But, I do know his address is anyone wants to go do some spiteful things... JUST kidding...water under the bridge. Im happy now and he doesnt count in my life anymore!
