Patio Furniture

Hey Ladies,
Well, we received the contracts yesterday and our attorney (my Dad) is making some revision and then hopefully this time next week both parties have signed and we have closing date of 3/5/07 (so we won't pay penalties at the bank!).

Ok, we want patio furniture (just looking now because obviously being a research for a living makes me research EVERYTHING way in advance).

We only have about $300 to spend. I've checked out craigslists and haven't seen anything good. D
oes St. Vincent DePaul carry patio furniture?
Walmart has some sets, but is it better to get a used set that is better quality or a cheaper set that's new?
Target has some nice sets but more expensive?

We want a table, 4-6 chairs, umbrella & stand.

Any other places would greatly help. Thanks Kerry

P.S. My Mommy is getting us a BBQ and MIL is paying for us to get the carpets cleaned and paint. I LOVE MY FAMILIES!!

Re: Patio Furniture

I sold patio furniture for years

if want something that lasts I would look for powdered coated almunium

Sundown ski and patio has an outlet on 110 or maybe wait and buy a floor sample

also check ski stop off the LIE- they might have something left over from last year

keep it covered- and always take the umbrella out of the table

You could try the fortunoff clearance center. They might have something discounted. If not, my mom got her set at target. It probably cost about 5-600 but its great quality. Patio furniture can be very expensive!

Re: Patio Furniture

really I never thought about Ski Shop.

I actually checked out the Fortunoff Store in Smithtown (their Clearance Center for Outdoor Furniture). they had a ton, but it was painstaking trying to find a table, chairs & matching umbrella. A LOT of miss matches. But its a option. I may check out again soon. I also wanted to maybe go to Harrows. Does anybody know when they are shutting their doors and if they still have anything?

Re: Patio Furniture

We bought a set from Walmart for my mom and the set is very sturdy and well made, we have had no problems with it at all.

Re: Patio Furniture

My set is from Walmart - it's about three years old and no problems whatsoever. I think it was $129 for a glass top table, 5 chairs and an umbrella.
I do bring everything in over the winter.

There are two KMarts that aren't too far - one on Sunrise Highway in Bohemia and one on Route 83 just north of Exit 62 of the LIE

I don't think $300 will get you everything you want, but Target has nice stuff for the $ and BJs has good deals on patio furniture in the Spring.

I had a martha stewart set I got at Kmart ten years ago till two years ago. Most of the time it stayed outside all year & it still lasted forever.
Two summers ago we bought a new set at walmart, I bought the umbrella seperate at pier one. So far I'm super happy with the quality for the price. I think it was on sale for $299 for 6 chairs, cushions & glass top table

Re: Patio Furniture

I got my patio set at an antiques show in MA. Brimfield... something like that. Anyway- heavy duty, table and 5 chairs, $125. It's from the 50's, and bright orange, totally my style- but if you have some time off, make a long day of it- furnish your house with antiques- sooo much cheaper than new, and usually very well made- it's lasted this long, after all.
I think there's one in May.

I never congratulated you-
!!

Re: Patio Furniture

Our friends bought outdoor furniture at sears and I think they spent under 500 but I am not sure how much. I know when we were looking I saw some that were in the 300 range at sears.

We got a great deal at Sears- about $300 for a rectangular table and 6 chairs. And it was delivered (we'd paid for a Martha Stewart set at KMart, then realized that it would not fit in the car!)
