Anyone live in a houseboat??
if so, do you like it?? the houseboat on a barge, not the mobile ones!! iv'e seen some for sale and curioius about them

No, but we have a mobile houseboat and love it (it's currently dry-docked for major renovations that we just don't have the time for now)!! But, we love to go out on it for the weekend and just escape the real world - with all the comforts of home. I'm not sure how I'd feel if it were my primary residence, though.

I looked into them in my early 20's. There's alot more expenses than you think to them. You have to pay for dockage, there's some sort of tax attached to them, you have to pay for sewage removal, etc. It was alot more than I originally estimated. Do your homework and be careful. Good luck!

Sharon's right. But - since we have a house, we're able to write off part of the houseboat claimed as a second dwelling (just has to have a bathroom and kitchen - which it does). You might want to think about that.
