Worried and not sure what to do....

I am in my 16th week (17 starts on Tues) and my next Dr appt is Dec 6.

On Thursday in getting ready to go to IL's for dinner, I was nealing and bent over (comfortably, not like I was straining or breathing heavy) for about 2 min, when I went to stand up I felt an uncomfortable pulling sensation on my lower tummy area (the "bump" area- below belly button) on the right side. I immediately sat down and rested for a few min, then when I got up I felt it again, though not as strong. I went right to bed to lay down. I stayed there for about 10 min, when I got up I was not feeling the pulling, but since then I get minor cramping when I am up/walking around. As soon as I sit, it pretty much suibsides.

Any thoughts? Is it nothing and I am just worrying? Could it be something and I just wait til my next appt (in 11 days) or call my Dr on Monday to see if I can get in sooner?

I am not all THAT worried, but it's hard not to worry. This is my first pregnancy and I am trying not to worry too much!

TIA!!! PS you girls have all been so supportive and helpful in the advice dept. I dont post a whole lot, but read alot!

it sounds like ligament pains - I got them often when I'd change position.

round ligament pain.....your uterus stretching. I'm sure it's ok. Have you had it again since then?

Sounds the same to me. I was pretty worried too. My doctor told me to take a warm shower to see if that helped & it did.

Yes, I have had the cramping on and off.

Did a search here for round ligament pain, sounds like that may be what it is. I will rest, drink water and if it gets worse, I will call the Dr.

As I said in ym original post, you girls are great!

With my first, I would end up doubled-over on the floor from this. Likely it's nothing, but if it puts your mind at ease, at least call the dr. on Monday and ask them/let them know.

It sounds like stretching. As my doctor put it , the body is going through enormous changes you will have some aches and pains.

I had this too and went to the Dr b/c I thought something was wrong. he said stretching pains start at 16-18 weeks and it is totally normal, so don't worry!

Re: Worried and not sure what to do....

If you are worried, call your doctor.

I am almost 10 wks PG and have had "cramps" on and off in the "fold" between my legs and belly since the beginning. It was getting worst about 2 wks ago.

We pulled in my sonogram. Baby was fine.

It is most likely the ligaments of my uterus. It's all growing and stretching. I am uncomfortable when I turn at time.

Apparently, it's normal!!!!!

Re: Worried and not sure what to do....

I'm only 7 weeks now, and have the same thing. I figure it is normal to feel some cramping... as there's a lot going on in there.

I freaked out when I had spotting. If you don't have any spotting, I'd consider it to be the stretching like everyone has already said and keep your Dec. 6th appt.
