Elder Care
My 86 y.o. grandma was in the hospital and now the nursing home...she lived alone and fell which was the last straw bc it has been happening more and more frequently. Can anyone recommend some assisted living places in Queens? I think my parents feel very helpless right now. My grandma is not happy about this but realizes she cannot live alone anymore...she lives in a huge house that has no bathroom on the first floor..it's really a tough situation. Thanks

Re: Elder Care
I know this is a tough situation for everyone. I had found this website LINK The contact person is Hollis, her email is [email protected]. If she only knows LI, she will refer you on. She has been so helpful in recommending Assisted Living places and services, so check out the website and/or e-mail her. Some places are called "Independent Living", and they have less of a nursing home feeling, some residents still keep their part-time jobs!
Good luck to all of you, my heart goes out to your Grandma especially, it's not easy to know you can't go it alone anymore...
