Not much of a birth story...

since I had a scheduled c-section. It was definitely weird dropping Caiden off at school and heading straight for the hospital to have the baby. So surreal and it definitely didn't feel natural. But, at least I didn't have to go through labor this time around.

Everything went well. I still got a spinal, and this time so I didn't shiver they put this "bear hug" thing across my chest to keep me warm since the OR is VERY cold. With Caiden all I did shiver really bad. After the surgery I also got very itchy which is normal. I tried several drugs before one worked to stop the itching.

The worst part of the whole thing is when they're actually getting the baby out. The pressure is unbelieveable. I'm not going to lie. It's VERY hard to breathe. I also kept feeling the urge to cough, but just couldn't get it out. All of this is normal. The doctor had some trouble getting his shoulder out, other than that it went great. He wasn't swollen like Caiden was at all. Caiden was definitely chunky! Chat Icon

I didn't know this but my doctor told me that Connor wasn't swollen like Caiden was because I didn't go into labor. She said that that caused him to be swollen, and she also said that the next day when they make you walk around for the first time wasn't going to hurt as much as it did with Caiden either which was true. She said since my uterus hasn't done alot of work already it was going to be easier.

Connor got all 9's on his Apgar test. His blood sugar was a little low so they asked my DH if it was ok to give him some formula to bring it up. Which they did and things have been fine since.

Nursing has been going well. DH even helped me the first time I nursed since it's been a while since I did it with Caiden. It was sweet! Chat Icon

Connor had his 1 week appt on Tuesday and he gained 5 oz. back in only 3 days. At least I know he's getting something!

Well, things are going smoothly so far. (knock on wood) I'm sure I'll post more on my little man if you ladies don't mind!
