Mother's Day only for "active" moms
I was reading on redditt that Mother's Day is only for "Active" moms - moms with children under 18.
I never heard of that. It was being discussed by women who felt they were being forced to share the day with their in-laws and that since their mother-in-laws weren't "actively parenting" they no longer were entitled to that holiday. They now should celebrate only Grandparents Day.
First, that annoyed me because what about the moms who's kids decide not to have children and they will never be grandparents.
What about the parents of special needs children who may live with their parents well into their adult years. Shouldn't they be celebrated?
Each mom should celebrate that day how THEY want but they can't just decide a holiday is just for "moms in the trenches."
And I have a college age kid and I feel like I'M still in the trenches most day!
What's your opinion?

Sorry but people are just stupid, plain and simple.

Mother's Day only for
My husband and I still both celebrate Mother's day with our moms and we are in our 40s. We NEVER celebrate Grandparent's day. My step dad and his siblings still celebrate their Mom. I wish my dad's partner a Happy Mother's day, even though I was already an adult when they got together and her children are now adults.
Mother's day is for ALL moms, with little or big kids that are living or may have passed on.
