Zantac question

DS has been on Zantac since mid December for reflux. He was doing pretty good with it up until 2 weeks ago. I guess his taste buds are more developed now and he doesn't like the taste. Lately he has been spitting it out. Tonight he gagged on it until he threw it up. I tried to put it in his bottle, but he doesn't always finish it. Does anyone have any secrets they can share with me? Can it be flavored? It is mint flavored already. Why would they make mint for babies? Is there something else that tastes better?

Re: Zantac question

DD takes this too....I try to tilt her head all the way back so she can't spit it out but sometimes she spits some of it out if I forget to do that. I find that when DD is really hungry she doesn't care and eats it fine...but yay I know, it is minty...yuk!! I tasted a drop once and it really is gross!!

Re: Zantac question

I used to put the dropper in her cheek in the way back and she had no choice, it went right down her throat.

DD does the same thing...she either spits it out or spits it up. It helps if I have DH hold her on an angle while I give it to her. She has no choice but to swallow it.

Re: Zantac question

How old is your DC? From your pic he looks about the same age as my DD- she is a little over 4 months (they have the same exersaucer lol). Olivia is also on Zantac. She takes it fine (I do the syringe in the back of the cheek). However, as her core gets stronger and digestion better I was going to talk to the PED about weaning her off of the Zantac. Maybe you can speak to your PED? Not sure if this would work for you... but maybe this is a signal? I did read around 6 months most (not all) babies reflux starts to slowly decline as they sit up more...
