yuck

pretty sure i have a yeast infection. i am super itchy and very uncomfortable... ill be 12 weeks tomorrow and of course my dr is closed on fridays and im going away for the weekend! i went online and checked the americanpregnancy.org webisite that said creams and suppositories were okay so i went and got the one day monistat. please give me some confirmation that its safe... im desperate!

I thought I may have been getting one the week my pregnancy was confirmed but it turned out I was just irritated from using progesterone, once I stopped the medication I was fine. At that time I was told I could apply OTC medication externally but not to use anything internally until 14 weeks.

I think yeast infections are fairly common in pregnancy and I think my doctors office was just being cautious. I'm sure it's fine.

Hey I'm sorry, I know how yucky that is, esp prego in the summer. When I was prego with DS, I had them like every other month- it was horrible! I don't even know why for sure. My Dr mentioned the rise in hormones sometimes causes it. Anyhow, they recommended the usual monistat but I'm allergic to all of those so I had to use a prescription cream. Talk ab scary. But I looked it up and it was safe and my son is now 5 and healthy as can be. Def do your research and double check as I did. Good luck and feel better!
