You might be grossed out, but I just have to say...
I am VERY proud of DH who called and told me that he got a 9-point buck today while hunting upstate!!!
It's not my favorite sport, but am very proud of him and I know he is extremely excited!
Now he wants to get it mounted 
ETA: oh yeah, and he entered a contest in town, and so far he has the biggest deer (double yay! )

I was driving home today from a jewerly party and saw like four deer stacked up on the back of a truck. None were a buck the size!

Woo Hoo!!
My nephew just got his hunting license and got a squirrel upstate 2 weeks ago.
He wanted to save the skin but his mom said no --- though he did try it out with some italian dressing.
Sounds like fresh Venison at your house this week!

My DH is an avid hunter - my in-laws rented a house up in Margaretville for the month. We were up there last weekend. As I post, my DH is hunting out in Southampton.
People don't realize how huge hunting is on Long Island...I didn't until I met DH & his family.

DH has a bunch of buddies in TX who hunt and call him to brag about what they got. he shares it with me and I'm always   but they eat everything they get.

While I am not thrilled with hunting, my DH brought up a good point about it-- he said that if people didn't hunt animals like deer and ducks, since the population of them in certain areas is very high, they would die of starvation over the winter, so in some ways, hunting is kind of like mercy killing. It made me feel better about it.
