You know what?

I have been thinking about this since HRC gave her concession speech. She did something historical. Something amazing. Something to really shake things up. She may not have broken the ultimate glass ceiling, but she sure as shit cracked it. She has come closer to the White House than any other woman.
HRC ran with the big dogs, played the "boys club" games and despite the witch hut, got pretty damn far IMO. Men in politics and business skirt the edge of the law and ethics all the time. No one bats an eye, it's just they way things are done. But a woman dare do it, burn her at the stake! So she may not have been a perfect person, she may have done some cut throat things along the way, made self-serving moves in her career, but she did it. She paved the way. There is a momentum now that has to be embraced and we have to be ready to ride it, to not lose ground on what she gained. As we know, well behaved woman seldom make history!

She paved the way, and NO ONE, not the biggest hater out there, can take that away from her.

My daughter was asking how old a person has to be to run for president. One of her friends said she wants to be the first female president. They're 8 years. I pray that they see a woman in the oval office before 2044... but at least now she knows she can run. I hope by 2044 there won't be a need to say 'female' president and she can just be President.

Im proud to have cast my ballot for the first woman candidate. My Nana came here as an immigrant when she was 16. She was one firce lady. She was a president of the ladies garment union and her dream was to see a woman I the white house. When she was in hospice she told me it was one of the things she wished she could have lived to see. She said she knew I would see it in my lifetime and I know she is right. I told my daughters this morning that they can be anything they want including the President because even though HRC didn't win she did something historical. She did put a crack in that ceiling and I know a woman will soon shatter it.

Yes!! I woke my DD up this a.m. and told her that Trump won and she started to cry because she wanted the "girl" to win (She's 4). I am happy that DD is going to grow up knowing that she can be whatever she wants to be.
