Yearly Review..

Grr.....the highest you can get on your yearly review is a 1, the lowest a 5. The head of my department decided this year that no one gets a 1, because everyone can improve. So, I got a 2. And, that's fine, whatever.

HOWEVER, on my last year's review, my boss recommended me for a promotion, and wanted to "mold my position into a Director level job throughout the year" which I believe we did.

My review went well, my boss told me I do a tremendous job, YET, no promotion and significant raise this year. She said it's out of her hands and the department head doesn't have it in the budget, nor does she feel it's time to promote me.

I can't help but think my boss just isn't fighting hard enough. When I had a staff, I fought tooth and nail for the employees I felt were deserving of promotions, and more $$.

I just need some hugs...

That bites! Sorry to hear about it. Maybe you can get her to agree that it will be revisited in three months? When are next year's budgets planned? Chat Icon

Thanks...unfortunately the budgets for the next year were planned in October (yeah, nice of them to tell me at that time, right?) We have a mid-year review where I'm guessing we'll talk about it again.
