those are wedges not mules
to me, those look like mules with a small wedge... either way, slip-ons like that aren't comfortable.

i am looking for inexpensive work shoes - i am preggo so comfort is key! we aren't supposed to wear thong sandals to work  so i need to do a little shopping

What about plain black ballet flats?
these have a little grip at the bottom that I don't love... but might be good so you don't slip! $59
