XPOST: OT MOMS... HELP

Hi all,

My DS just starting going to OT 2x per week and has been seeing two different therapist (1 on Monday's and a different therapist on Wednesday's... but the same therapists week over week). We are new to this and I'm not sure how I feel about him seeing two different people. We started late, so there wasn't much availability when given choices.

Should I move him to a new facility where he'll be seen by the same therapist or leave him (since he does seem happy)? I just want to try to get the most out of the therapy since we started so late in the school year. UGH! So confused.

is this through early intervention? Most likely they are giving you two different people due to shortage in availabilty....this time of year is very tough as most people are booked. Good luck!

We went through a few OTs over the years and I feel like the majority of them do things extremely similar. So unless your DS isn’t enjoying his time with one of them, I’d let it be. I imagine they also speak to each other? I’d even start a notebook and have them both write a small summary each time they come so that they other can pick up where the other left off. We do that with speech, not bc my DS has 2 teachers but bc I can pick up where she left off at home, it takes a couple mins from the session, but I feel like it’s really helpful.

I think it would be hard to switch mid-year... I know I had to wait 5 months for my son to start OT because there was such a shortage.
