XPOST from PG: Christening Dilemma, please help if you can:
I did a small dinner at a restaurant with close family for my 2nd DD's baptism. We had a slightly bigger dinner at a restaurant for my 1st DD, with a bigger guest list, but money was an issue this time around.
No one was offended that we didn't invite them this time. In fact, it never even came up. I also didn't feel like I needed to do something for the people not invited to the dinner. It's your child, and your decision on the kind of celebration you want to have.
People will understand and I'm sure it will be a non issue. They can come see the baby another time, or even just come to the church if they really want to see him that day. It's about the sacrament, not the party!
