Xpost from PG board: Any ladies who had pre-eclampsia during pregnancy?

If you have pre-eclampsia, what did you have to do?

Were you on bed rest? Did you have to stay at the hospital?

Did you have to have the delivery of the baby when they found out you had it?

They induced me. I started showing signs around 35 weeks and was induced at 38.

I have a form of pre-eclampsia called H.E.L.L.P. and had to have an emergency c-section at 34 1/2 weeks.

It was pretty scary. I'm told it could cause my liver to rupture.

They never really decided if I was preeclamptic. Since I was 39 weeks they just decided to induce me.

My friend was diagnosed at 29 weeks and was put on bedrest and had her DS at 34 weeks, but everything is fine with them now.

Sophie, you are 35 weeks? That is so close, they will probably put you on bedrest for a week or two, then you would be made in the shade, don't stress, it makes the bp issue worse.

I was diagnosed at 36w2d and was put on bed rest. I went back to my dr. at 36w4d to recheck everything and my BP was higher and there was more protein in my urine. I was sent to the hospital from the office and induced. I delivered DS the next day.

I was never fully diagnosed with it, but I was borderline. It started at 36 weeks and I was put on bedrest, then I developed extremely high blood pressure and had a c-section later that week

I had PIH and started showing signs at 36 weeks wehn my blood pressure was 144/111 and has protein in urine.. i was induced that night

I was put on bedrest for almost 3 months before Andrew was born. And then at around 37 weeks it got to a point were they had to do an emerg c-section.

I was diagnosed very early in my PG.

My BP was 155/100 when the sent me and 160/115 at one point. I had protein in my Urine and exacerbated swelling...

Early on in my pregnancy my pressure was always high when i go on my prenatal visits. Around 27th week, my OB recommended that i go on bedrest. During my visit, 29th week, to the specialist for growth check (DD was measuring small) my pressure was very high - don't know what it was, they didn't tell me - they had me stay overnight so they can obtain my urine for 24 hours to check for protein. My protein was 2 or 3 points hgher than what they want it to be, so i ended up doing my bedrest in the hospital for a month. They also gave me 2 steroid shots in case they had to deliver. Was sent home after a month. One week later went back for scheduled growth check, my BP was super high that they decided to induce me that night. Gave birth on my 34th week. DD was only 3 lbs and 1 oz but she didn't have any problems.

Well I started showing signs of high blood pressure at week 35 but no protein etc. I was induced at 38 weeks for high BP but I actually developed full on Pre-e with elevatated liver enzymes and everything 2 days AFTER delivering.

Apparently - you can still get pre-e for 6 weeks after delivery even though delivery is usually the cure. for me it took about 2 weeks after deliver and my BP dropped back to normal as did my enzymes.

I had it and showed signs at 32 weeks. My doctor wanted me on bedrest then but I pushed till 35 weeks so I could finish student teaching.

I was severly swollen and was told to stay off my feet and drink so much water everyday i thought I would drown!

My BP fluctuated and what the doc was waiting for was protein in my urine. That showed up at 39 weeks so I was induced and had her 4 days early.

After I had Kerri it looked like my swelling was worse but after a week it started to return to normal

I got Preclampsia at 38 weeks, my dr put me on bed rest to see if my swelling would go down, but it didn't and my BP stayed the same, so he took Julia by c-section 2 weeks early. When I went to the hospital they gave me med's to help me and the baby from having any problems. I was fine after she was born, and so was Julia.

I had high blood pressure at 30 weeks and was put on bedrest. I was put into the hospital at 31 weeks and 6 days later ended up with severe pre -e and had an emergency csection 50 minutes shy of 32 weeks. After delivery my bp went down pretty quickly. I had one episode while i was still in the hospital.

HELLP syndrome is not a form of pre-eclampsia it is a very serious condition that can develop because of pre-eclampsia. Glad you were okay.
