Re: Xpost from Home: Where do you get your firewood?
not sure where the best place is around you. last year i went through the search. 2 things i wish i had known:
a cord of wood - is a LOT of wood. Make sure you have room for it and plan on having a fire every night!!
ask how long it has been seasoned for. Online says wood should be seasoned for a few months, but really it should be more like a year. It burns much much better.
good luck!

Re: Xpost from Home: Where do you get your firewood?
Thanks for the info!
This is how much wood we had from trees we took down on our property:
(It's three rows deep!!!!) I think it took us three seasons to get through it all (DH keeps the thermostat LOW ) because we do have a fire almost nightly in the winter. Actually we ran out before the end of last winter.
If anyone has recs in the Northport/Huntington area, let me know!
