xpost: External version? BTDT moms any advice?

Hi Ladies! I went to the Dr yesterday and the baby is still frank breech. I'm 35w3d. She isn't optimistic that baby will turn on its own but said not to give up hope. The baby is measuring about 6lbs 4oz. I need to decide in few days if I want to try an external version. We discussed it so I'm aware of the pros/cons but I was wondering if anyone has tried it or could just offer some advice? TIA

Re: xpost: External version? BTDT moms any advice?

My baby was breech and this was recommended to me, however I opted not to go for it for several reasons, firstly they give you a drug that softens your uterus, they then turn the baby around, now, there is a high possibility that you could go home that night and the baby can turn around agan by itself...so thats not so great. Also, they told me that there is only a 50% success rate with an external version, thats means there is a 50% failure rate...so I didn't want to go through it for nothing to be honest.

When I went to my 36 week appointment that pesky baby was breech, I was scheduled for a section at 38 weeks, went in for that, got all prepped etc, they got me ready for surgery, checked the position of the baby and she had turned right around head down, so they sent me home. Went home, two weeks later my water broke, went into hospital, they sent me home again to come back in 24 hours for an induction as everyone thought the baby was head down, went back in, went down for induction at 6.30 am, they said they wanted to do a scan to check her position, guess what...BREECH again, so they were going to do a section, it took them 12 hours to get to me to do the section. (Sorry such a long story)

I don't have any advice, just that the external version isn't pretty and it doesn't have a high success rate, and there are some risks involved. It wasn't for me. Good luck!!!

My dd was breech at 32 weeks and then again at 38 weeks. She never turned on her own. She was already measuring large and my obgyn told me an external version would do more harm then good. So we never tried it and went for the csection. Sorry, i guess i didnt really help. lol. but this was my experience :)

Had an external version at 37 weeks. It didn't work and it wasn't the most comfortable experience, but it wasn't that bad either. I wanted to try everything to get his to turn to avoid the c/s, but no luck. Ended up with c/s at 39 weeks.

He had been breech for every appt 28 weeks +
