You aren't being selfish. And if you get a bad vibe, then I don't blame you.
But I also understand being torn. I mean (and I may get flamed for this) if he isn't doing drugs or being a drunk or belligerent then I would kind of go and ignore him. Maybe I am passive aggressive, but I can't imagine not spending Christmas with my mom b/c of closeted problems.
But if he was belligerent or doing drugs in the house whiel you all were there, then I wouldn't go.
