Xmas question (difference btwn you and DH)
What do you do when you and DH were brought up two different ways regarding Xmas? I was talking to DH today about what to get our boys from Santa and he of course is b*tching about money He thought we were done with them already. I grew up where my parents bought us gifts like clothes, toys etc. and then we got a big gift from Santa. I just asked MIL how they grew up and she said everything was from Santa.

Both of us had everything from Santa, and then we would get a couple of things from our parents. So this is what we will do.

I grew up with one larger or more expensive gift from santa and the rest where from my parents. i THINK DH had it the same way...but his mom dosent even bother with santa now.

Re: Xmas question (difference btwn you and DH)
DH grew up in Poland and I think all presents were from Santa. None were ever from anyone else. The name tags on gifts only had the recipient name no matter if Mom bought for Dad or son bought for Mom.
My family had some from Santa and some from my parents. I think we will do it this way.

We do it my way same here this pretty much sums up our relationship
our family did the 1 gift from santa the rest from mom and dad, we will do the same. my mother felt that it was important to teach gift giving at an early age so we all exchanged something even if it was very little...

Re: Xmas question (difference btwn you and DH)
I was brought up with everything being from santa and that's how I do it with my children. I think one yr I gave my son a small gift from us but the rest was from santa but that was it.

Re: Xmas question (difference btwn you and DH)
We got almost everything from Santa, one gift from my parents and my brother and I gave each other one. The rest of our gifts were from my grandparents, aunts & uncles who were all VERY generous since my parents were on a very tight budget.
DH was raised Jewish so he doesn't realize there is any other way.
