Re: OMG I NEED ADVICE! this day is going crazzy

I would stay at the new job. Lets face it... the money is in Manhattan. And the new job just showed you that you are at least appreciated.

I don't believe in going back to old jobs that you left. They already know you left for one reason... they could just bring you back because they are in a temporary grind. Then they will just can you afterwards.

Re: OMG I NEED ADVICE! this day is going crazzy

OMG what a day u r having and to think I am sitting at my desk and following your day with u. I am so bored. Ok off my soap box! I think u know your answer...if u love your first job and its so much easier go back. Would u have a decrease in $ from job #3 to job #1? also like u said consider the travel expense and time that it takes etc... Good luck making your decision. Hope u only have more good surprises the rest of the day!

don't take this the wrong way, but you seemed to have been jumping around a lot. i don't "know" you but from what i've read, it seems that way.

i would stay at your current job, again i agree with pill - twillight zone anyone? they may just need you for a temp thing.....

I'd try to stay somewhere for a while ... when job interviewing company's tend to look for loyalty and commitment.

This job is paying more and they seem to appreciate you. You left job #1 for a reason, I don't believe (like in every company) things are miraculously fixed and perfect now.

You need to weigh if the decrease in salary is worth the better lifestyle (better commute, shorter hours, etc.)

I don't see a problem with going back to the same company. Some industries are so small that it happens pretty frequently. I had considered asking an old job to go back, admit I'd made a mistake (I knew they wanted me back) but then senior managment changed and I decided to stay where I was.

As far as the bonus, if it was already paid, I don't think you have to pay it back. But if they just told you the number and you give notice before it's paid you will not get it. At least that's how it works in DH's industry (finance).

Good luck! It's a nice feeling that 2 jobs want you!

Will they give you more money? If they will match your current salary I say go for it!

if the ONLY reason why you left the previous job is due to money i would negotiate w/ them for a higher salary. tell them what you are currently earning and ask if they can match it or meet you somewhere in the middle.

i think what is most important is that your happiness. if you love your old job, the people and the commute i would seriously consider accepting the position. IMO, the extra money that you are earning now does not make up for the added stress and he!!ish commute.

if you do decide to leave, i think it is only proper to offer to return the bonus.
