WWYD....ped related. Kind of long

So this is the 4th ped I have been too.

The 1st was in Brooklyn (where I lived at the time). And I loved them!

The 2nd was my old ped (although he is retired ) Had to wait 2 HOURS in the waiting room and had an appointment. Decided I just can't deal with that. Practice was too big IMO.

The 3rd was recommended by family, and while he was really nice, he was old and wound up having a heart attack. So I figured I'd cut my losses and go somewhere else.

Now I am at my 4th. I don't want to have to change again, because the doctor that we usually see, I really like. I think she is kind, and very up to date with everything that is going on.

So here is my dilema. They have LOST DD's records, which includes her immunizations. She got her MMR there and the flu shot, so I know I gave it to them, otherwise they would not have given her the MMR. I don't know if she is completely caught up on everything. I don't know if I should make a big deal about it. I think I can get them from the last ped, since they were faxed. But I am kind of annoyed.

Oh No! They lost it? Do you have a copy? We have to bring in DS's records to daycare so when we go for his shots we get a copy for daycare and we always make a copy for ourselves.

they lost the record that was faxed from the other office ? working in an office that has charts i can understand how it could have gotten lost. it could have easily slipped out of the chart or if the charts are jammed against each other it could have winded up in antother chart.

If u can get the records from the other office then i would have it re-faxed. If ur confortable with this office i wouldnt be too quick to change.
Of course if stuff like this happens all the time then i would be lookng elsewhere.

So many reasons why i love my peds office - one of them is everythings all computerized.

I would give the new pediatrician a second chance--are you sure they even received the fax from the former pediatrician? I wouldn't just assume they did indeed fax the records--I had my old doctors send records to my new doctors when we moved, and I would say the records were only sent about half the time (eventhough I was assured they would be sent).

Or have the pediatrician send the records to you directly. Might be best if you are uncertain about the new doc.

They definately got the records from the old ped. They would not give her the MMR without it.

I'm going to pick up the records from the old ped and create a binder. I'm just worried about what she's gotten since being at the new ped. I know she got MMR there (because it's such a big deal). I don't think she got anything else. But I'm not positive.
