wwyd...3d sono
so my ob does 3d/4d sonos in the office apparently but you have to pay out of pocket since it's for entertainment purposes only. Should I do it at the doctor's office or look to do it at a place that specializes in this only?

Re: wwyd...3d sono
For me, it would depend on the setting of each place.
For example, I've gone to Madonna twice for sonograms (nt and 20 week) instead of having them done at my doctors office (where I did my 30w growth). At my doctors office the sonogram showed on a small little screen. At Madonna, the room was dimmed, and there was a big freakin flat screen tv on the wall that was easily seen by everyone in the room. THAT's where I would want to go for my 3d-4d sonogram. If i'm paying extra out of pocket for it I want my $'s worth lol.
(I don't know if Madonna does 3d-4d)

i would probably go to a place that specialized in it because i think a bunch of them offer you to come back if you dont get good images/if the baby is not in good position. im not sure your doctor would do the same thing.
my dr did the 3d for us and each time baby never cooperated - id be annoyed if i paid for it

Re: wwyd...3d sono
I would ask your dr's office what the deal is if they can't get a good image if the baby is not in a good position. At my high risk dr's office they have tried doing a 3d every week since I think 18wks and only TWICE have we been able to get a good image- and I am 36wks!!
eta: a lot depends on the baby's position, how much fluid is in front of the baby's face, the position of the placenta, etc.. Just make sure if you can't get a decent picture that you don't waste money - wherever you get it done! (thankfully I never had to pay for mine, we would flip it on a lot and if it worked it worked)
