WWYD? toddler vs. twin bed
DS just turned two and his little 5 month old brother is patiently waiting for older DS's crib!
DS is now 36 inches, @ 2 years old . I'm wondering we should get a toddler bed or go for the twin.
Also where did you get your older DC's bed/furniture?
any insight is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

Re: WWYD? toddler vs. twin bed
We went straight to a twin and glad we did. Although he hasn't needed us at night yet (he has been in the bed about 6-8 weeks) there is plenty of room for DH or I to lay with him.
We moved him when he was about 2 years 3 months.
We have the bed rails on both sides and there is really no way he can fall out.

Re: WWYD? toddler vs. twin bed
Our oldest, we moved straight to a twin at 2 yrs old. Our youngest we will be moving soon (he's 2). Our reasoning--one transition vs. 2.
eta: We got our oldest's furniture set from The Place and our youngest's bed (we will be using the furniture that came with the crib) will most likely be coming from gothic cabinet b/c they can match or come close to the color of his set.

Straight to a twin bed. The toddler beds take the same mattress as a crib

straight to a twin at 21 months. DD had a little sister coming and we wanted her in a bed before her sister arrived. worked out fine. transition was super easy and she was very excited for her big girl room.

Re: WWYD? toddler vs. twin bed
I wouldn't spend the money to buy a separate toddler/day bed. Both of our DC went to a toddler bed, but only because they were convertibles, so I just took one side off. They also had their own crib/bed, so I didn't have to worry about passing it down.
