WWYD: Talk me off the edge
the 8-10 party I had planned blew up its now nearly at 20kids.
I thought at 16 kids we could get away with 20 favors and that's what I did.
Now we are at 19 RSVP'ed
Umm holy crap.. what do I do if I run out of favors because of an non-RSVP.
Its not expensive stuff. I have plenty of candy (well two types of the 7 we got) and about 4 puzzles we tossed in the bags. But only one more cutting board ($1 each) and no more aprons ($1)
I guess I could go buy like a few more of the aprons and cutting boards.. right?
OMG! last year I invited 35 got RSVP for 15 and only 8 showed. Now we've got people talking to other people about the idea of the kids making their own pizza its crazy!!!
Called in our headcount and they nearly died. I have currently 19 kids and 26 parents or so... so we're talking about a 50person party .. give or take.. we are so taking over California Pizza Kitchen!
Oh .. the party is TOMORROW! and folks are STILL RSVPing!

I wouldn't buy any more favors unless more than 20 kids rsvp. If un-announced kids show up, you can just tell them that you didn't realize they were coming so you didn't have a favor for them, but that you'll give one to them the next time you see them.

I would not worry about favors for kids that did not RSVP. You might end up with extras if you run out and buy more and its a waste of your money.

Re: WWYD: Talk me off the edge
There are always a few people that run out quick & forget the favor anyway so I wouldn't worry

19RSVP'ed 17 Showed.. One brother stayed home and one girl was sick. The mother of the boy asked for his favor to take it home. LOL AND took a spare, which I think was slightly rude but whatever I don't need extra crap in my house. Then we held the last one for the sick girl. :D
That mom also didn't bring a gift (never does) So it doesn't surprise me.

Re: WWYD: Talk me off the edge
Had a similar situation with our My Gym party last year. Siblings really killed us. I had a 25 person headcount and I actually told 2 good friends we didn't have space for her. They were good friend so they understood.
We ended up having 1 sick mom with 2 kids, 1 kid go to the ER, 1 kid who came at the wrong time and 1 other no show with 2 kids.
I think we had a total of 19 kids at the end, which was under our headcount.
