WWYD? Re: x-rays - UPDATE
Background: I am plugging along here, 23 cycles into TTC/infertility. I am not doing any IUI or IVF (doing some other non-standard treatment). Trying the old-fashioned way each month.
Issue: I have x-rays of my neck and hand scheduled tomorrow (not TTC/IF related), which is CD 10 for me. My doc who ordered the tests said to make sure to have them done before I could possibly be pregnant (he's so optimistic  ). I figured CD 10 would be safe ... except this morning I woke up on CD 9 and got a +OPK! (I had a feeling, since my CM was showing very good signs)
The question: Should I go ahead and have the x-rays done tomorrow? Or should I think positively and say that MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, I'll O today or tomorrow, and be potentially 0.5 sec pregnant tomorrow and NOT get the x-rays.
WWYD?
(was that way too long-winded for a rather simple question?  )
UPDATE:
I went and had the x-rays done. I was asked if there was any chance if I was pregnant - I hesitated, and then said no. Thanks for all your input!

I would get them done. If you are pregnant (and I hope you are!) then whatever neck issue you are having would be neglected for the next 9 months and possibly very painful. I think its better for your possible pregnancy that you know of any neck issues. I think that would take some stress off of you! Good Luck!

I would absolutely get the X-rays now. Like someone said, if you are pregnant then you would have to wait 9 months to get this taken care of. Good luck - praying this is your month!

I agree. Take care of it now, when it's so unlikely to cause any impact whatsoever. Once you get pregnant, you won't be able to do it...

About a year ago, I thought I had broken my thumb and needed an xray. So, when they took me in; two nurses asked me if I was PG. I said probably not. They said "are you trying?"......I said well yeah. They wouldnt do it. They said its not worth the chance and sent me home. Needless to say the x-ray wasnt done. And my thumb did get better so it wasnt broken and didnt need one anyway; but thats besides the point. LOL
So just be prepared........this may happen to you as well.

No I wouldn't do it. But if you really need to have the x-ray done I would just skip a month of trying.

i would get them. it shouldnt effect an egg that hasnt been released or fertilized yet. its just not the best idea for a growing baby. good luck!

Well, that's the thing. With the +OPK this morning, it's definitely possible my egg will be released or fertilized by tomorrow's x-ray appt. THAT'S why I have this quandry!

OK here is my opinion. Being I work in the xray field I would say it would be OK to get the xrays bc you just got a +OPK today and its your neck and hand and its not near your abdomen but make sure they shield you anyways. Now that being said depending on where you go for your xrays they might NOT do it bc you are TTC and you are past the 7-10 days safe time in your cycle.It is totally up to you what you do bc it is your body.If it were me and I really needed the xrays I would just do it but lie about your LMP bc like I said some places might not xray you. Let me know where you are going.
