wwyd quest, did I do the right thing?

I noticed this morning that the house in back of me (no one is living there right now, I think it's trying to be sold or something) their entire back sliding glass door was shattered. I was freaking out because I thought maybe someone has been breaking in. I called our sheriff dept to tell them I didn't know what happened but wanted to make sure no one was trying to break in. I hope I didn't overreact but I know that no one else would call something like that in (I live in such a wonderful community Chat Icon ) I don't know if I overreacted by calling but if there is someone breaking in I don't want mine to be next. I saw the sheriff come and walked from the front of the house to the back scratching his head. I felt ooh so safe after thatChat Icon

You did the right thing and as far as the Sheriff scratching his head, maybe he was confused as to why it hadn't been reported earlier or maybe nothing was missing from the house.

You definitely did the right thing. If someone were to try to break into that house, they would be really close to your house. I would rather be safe then sorry.

Why wouldn't it have been the right thing? You had a legitimate safety concern and that's what the police/sheriff's office are there for.

Better to be safe than sorry if you ask me.

You did the right thing. When I lived home, we had an abandoned house across the street (the landlord just didn't move anyone in for a few months, so it wasn't REALLY abandoned). One time, there were all sorts of noises coming from inside so we called the cops. Turns out a bunch of kids were destroying the house inside. The next week someone set the house on fire and it burnt to the ground. Always better to be safe and call.

You did the right thing. Now they can call the people who own the home and let them know.

You did the right thing.

The last thing you need for your home is a family of animals taking up residence in there!!!

I just viewed a home where the air conditioners where taken out of the wall and nothing replaced them. They house had a bee issue. Chat Icon
